Love & Rockets

Love & Rockets by Michael Mitchener
Love & Rockets, a photo by Michael Mitchener on Flickr.
This November, I'm embracing my love of streetcars and holding an exhibit of Red Rocket photographs (and one or two oil paintings) at Voulez-Vous Café.  Drop by throughout the month to view the collection, sample the cafe, and watch the occasional 501 streetcar pass by.

Also of note, there will be an Opening Reception + Neighbourhood Potluck on Thursday, November 10th from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm.  The event will include an informal potluck dinner, reception with drink, along with live music provided by the talented group, Sang Bleu.  There will also be 7-8 additional streetcar pieces added to the show for the opening.  If you want to chow down, feel free to participate in the potluck or just show up for some libations and chat.

It promises to be an evening full of food, drink, music, and of course, images romancing the Toronto streetcar, so mark November 10th on your calendar and I hope to see you at Voulez-Vous.

  1. A quick reminder that tomorrow night (Thursday) is the official opening of my Love & Rockets photo show at Voulez-Vous Café. I hope to see you there, I think it might be fun. The reception/potluck runs from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm with the band kicking up at 7:30. Santé.

  2. Thanks to everyone who came to last night's potluck/reception. It was really a great evening with good conversation, amazing food, beautiful music by Sang Bleu, and all around fun. Thanks to Sean Lacey and his great staff for hosting the event and for putting up with my streetcar obsession.

A reminder that the show runs to the end of the month if you haven't been by yet. Cheers.

  3. Today is the final day of my "Love & Rockets" photo exhibit at Voulez-Vous Cafe. Thanks to everyone who dropped by over the month or attended the Opening Night. Special thanks to cafe owner, Sean Lacey for the opportunity and to Sean and his team for putting together such a kick-ass Opening Night along with the talented band, "Sang Bleu", and one amazing potluck meal compliments of you. I enjoyed every minute of the show. Thanks!
